I can’t believe it but TOMORROW NIGHT our VBS program launches.
We have over 120 kids and volunteers signed up, our lobby, sanctuary and
classrooms have been transformed into space that will capture imaginations, and
we have an amazing program to present the Gospel and God’s love to Kids.
I do want to thank our amazing Director Alex and her team –
there’ve been dozens of amazing helpers working over the last few days.
I wanted to invite you into something beautiful that God is
already doing behind the scenes - the work of prayer that prepares hearts, both
young and old, for what He has planned.
VBS isn't just a summer program for our kids. It's a few
days where the gospel gets proclaimed to
tender hearts, where children who may never step foot in our sanctuary will
hear about Jesus, and where God often does His quiet, transformative work in
ways that echo into eternity. This is kingdom work, and kingdom work requires
kingdom prayer.
I'm asking each of you to join me in praying specifically
for several things in the coming days.
Pray for our man volunteers - that God would give them energy, patience, and genuine love for
each child they encounter. Many of our team members are stepping outside their
comfort zones to serve, and they need the Spirit's strength and joy to sustain
them.
Pray for the children who will walk through our doors. Some
come from homes where Jesus is already known and loved. Others may be hearing
His name for the very first time. Pray that God would prepare their hearts to
receive His truth, that the seeds planted during VBS would find good soil and
bear fruit that lasts.
Pray also for the parents and families connected to these
children. VBS often opens doors for gospel conversations that extend far beyond
our church walls. Ask God to use this week as a bridge to reach entire families
with His grace.
Finally, pray for protection over the entire time - for
safety, for unity among our volunteers, and for the enemy's schemes to be
thwarted as we proclaim Christ to the next generation.
Your prayers matter more than you know. The God who moves
mountains delights to move in the hearts of children, and He invites us to
partner with Him through prayer.
